How to Become a Christian

John 3:16 "For God so loved
the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

1. Recognize and acknowledge (confess) that you have sinned (fallen short of God's standards). Understand
that the consequence of that sin is death (eternal separation from God), but that Jesus Christ paid that debt for us.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2. Repent. Turn from your sin and toward God.
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins

3. Accept the forgiveness offered to you by receiving Jesus Christ as your personal savior. He died on the cross to
pay the penalty for your sin.
Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace
Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

4. Make Jesus your Lord (master) and determine in your heart to follow Him for the rest of your life.
Luke 9:23 "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it…
